My Best Friend Is a Stranger to Me

Old Father Time

My good friend of mine

You are a good friend to the mind

So gracious, so kind

You come and go as the wind blows

Closing windows and opening doors

Recycling unconditional love

That can’t be stopped

By any man

Slap ’em in the face with two hands

Now the world is making new plans

Fearful news stands

Causing fear and division

But, my best friend

Always makes the right decision

His vision is clear

He can see beyond the galaxies

Creating the will

Of what’s real

He is the brand of life

Carved on the graves of kings and queens

He puts a song on the heart of the unborn star

No one can live without my best friend

Yet, no one knows who you really are.
